The name Riric Tours&Travel comes from the name
of my daughter. You can see her rising out of the Lombok sea.
My name is Rema Nengah and my company
Lombok RIRIC Tours & Travel
is specialized in guiding tourists all over the
island.

Most people like to relax,
to see the island,
to enjoy the warm climate, to eat Asian food,
to meet

And of course you can arrange all that by your self,

There are several beaches and little islands
around Lombok, as the famous Gili islands, which are worth visiting.
You might alos be interested in seeing some villages
where people specialize in handicrafts,
wood carving, making pottery and weaving.
And, for the people who like to visit our temples,
mountains and
ricefields, there is enough to experience
for everybody.
You are free to organize your own trips,
but you can also select one
of the tours below:
Our cars will drive you safely
around the island !
If you travel with a group, it is also
possible to rent a big bus.
We can reservate hotelrooms for you.

village for one or two days,

SASAK
TRADITIONAL TOUR
It is possible to make a tour of different
workplaces,
such as potteries, weaving mills and woodcraft centres,
and you
get the opportunity to visit an
original Sasak village.
At the end of the
tour you can visit the
Kuta and Tanjung Aan beaches.
Duration: Max. 8 hours.
1. Banyumulek pottery
centre
The Lombok people are very talented in
making
all kinds of beaufiful things from natural materials.
On the photo on the left you can see a charming lady showing
a young tourist how to make a tortoise from fresh
clay.
2. Sukarara hand weaving
village
In this village in central Lombok
the women
specialize in making hand woven products
in traditional weaving
mills.
Products:
Very fine sarongs, to be used as
clothing or sheets.
Woven belts and shawls.
Further shirts, tablecloths, etc.
Songket, is a rather complicated type of hand weaving
that is usually done by women.
Sometimes with silver or gold strings,
to achieve a shiny look. It can take over a month
to make one piece of songket.
Another kind of hand weaving is the
Ikat Weaving, usually done by men
3. Rambitan original Sasak village
Most of the people on Lombok are
called Sasak people.
Besides Indonesian, they speak their own language.
You will have the opportunity to visit an original village
Rambitan in Sade (Wetu Telu village),
in the south of Lombok.
4. Kuta beaches
In
the south of Lombok you will find Kuta Beach,
including a number of nice beaches with fine, white sand.
On
the picture you can see a very nice beach,
the Mawun Beach (west of Kuta).
Here, you can imagine that you are in paradise.
East of Kuta you will find the Tanjang Aan beach.
Here you will see a
marvellous bay and a
peninsula jutting into the sea.
If you don't like overcrowded
beaches, the Mawun Beach
is the place to be !

1. Mayura water palace
This palace in Chakranegara was used by the
Balinese Karangasem dynasty, until 1894. In the middle section we see a large lotus pool, with in the centre an open hall.
This floating pavilion (bale kambang) was a law court and meeting place for the hindu kings.
The palace has its own temple.
About 12 km east of Chakranegara,
we see the Narmada
Summer Palace in the Narmada Royal Park.
It was built in 1805 and was a replica
of the Lombok mountain Gunung Rinjani
and the crater lake Segara Anak.
It was the summer palace of the Balinese radja’s in Narmada.
Narmada is named after a holy river in India.
When the king, Anak Agung Ngurah Karang Asem,
became too old to make a pilgrimage to Segara Anak he built the Narmada royal garden and temple
where he could perform his annual rituals.
3 Lingsar Temple
The Lingsar temple is a double temple,
built in 1714.
The northern part is called the Pura Gaduh,
a balinese temple. Two meters lower we find the
Kemaliq Lingsar temple from the Wetu Telu.
Both temples are connected with 17-step stairway,
symbol of the 17th day of the Ramadan.
On this day the Koran was given to the people.
4. Handicrafts
You can also visit also a place where products are
made from the
beautiful tropical wood of Lombok.

WATERFALL TOUR

1. Lendang bajur morning
market
On this morning market you will enjoy
the busy and colourfull
activities of people
selling and buying all kind of things.
Visiting the Pusuk monkey forest is always fun !
It is quite a strange experience, to look at
these wild, grey-brown Java monkeys.
It is just as if we looked in the mirror !
Mother and child,
waiting for a banana.
You will visit this traditional village,
under the palm trees in the north of Lombok,
situated next to the Rinjani Trek Centre.
The Sasak inhabitants are the cultural guardians
of Mount Rinjani and its surrounding forest
and safeguard its spiritual values.
Locally guided visits include opportunities to
experience the villagers's daily life,
visit their thatched houses,
prepare meals using local products,
and understand their traditional way of life.
Enjoy the sound of sparkling fresh water,
in the forest of Lombok.
You will also see a remarkable nature,
and have the opportunity to cool down.

Don't forget your swimming suit. It may

The Malimbu beach, in West Lombok,
is a friendly white sand beach.
I am sure you will like it.
2. Sindang Gila waterfall

This old mosque Kuno Bayan is located in the
Bayan village in West Lombok.
It was built in the 16th century.
The architecture of this building combines the architecture of Hindu-Bali and Islam-Java. The square plan of the mosque is strengthened by four timber master colums and is built like a Soko Guru construction in the Javanese architecture.
The story began, when Sunan Giri, a prominent ulama from East Java, came to Lombok to spread Islam. Sunan Giri was accepted by Datu Bayan, king of Bayan.
The king gave a piece of land to Sunan Giri.
Sunan Gini founded the Kuno Bayan mosque here.
The mosque is built on the top of a small hill at a height of around 355 meters above sea level.
When you walk in the forest,
be quiet and listen to the sounds
from all the animals and especially the colorful birds.
Perhaps you will even see the
crested cockatoo that is not
found any further west of Lombok.
Many of the insects, birds, monkeys, civets,
use the wild fig tree or beringin
for food and shelter.
The skills of the Lombok people
to create bamboo and rattans handicrafts and even weaving, are amazing.
See it with your own eyes !
Rattan has several advantages compared
with wood, it is light, strong,
flexible, easily shaped, and cheap.
You can also sell the products
at relatively low prices.

Taun harbour
On the way to Taun you will pass
black beaches
and little villages with large fishing pools (tambak).
In Taun there is a white beach.
Further we follow the curved beach
line
passing Taun harbour, towards the Gili islands
in the south west of Lombok.
You will arrive on this very small island,
under Taun harbour, with a fishing boat, a catamaran:
It is possible to rent some snorkling
equipment and some bread in bottles, to
attract the very colourful fishes
in the coral reef, not far from the beach.
You can dream that you are in paradise.
It is also possible to have a meal, in the one
and only restaurant on the island.

1. Senggigi panorama
On the west side of Lombok island
you can enjoy the beautiful panorama
on the Senggigi beach.
Enjoy the panorama from the Malimbu hill.
Malimbu is a mountainous area that is the zone
of Senggigi beach.
Malimbu Hill has a magnificent view on the beach,
the blue ocean and the the mount
on the background, including the Gili islands
Trawangang, Air and Meno.
3. Pusuk Monkey forest

We will visit Karang Bayan, a traditional village
to see the locally made and traditional art & craft
such as the famous Ketak basketwork.
On the left side you can see an example
of this very charming basketwork.
5. Sukarara hand weaving village
At the end of this trip we will
visit the Sukara hand weaving village.
